An exciting two days of racing is over at Santa Anita. It is obvious though that some horses did not like the new track surface. The turf horses seemed to do better on it.
Filly and Mare Sprint - Indian Blessing came in 2nd. The horse that won this race is a turf horse, just as in the Classic. It seems Indian Blessing could not hold the surface here setting up for another upset. Ventura wins.
Juvenile Fillies - Stardom Bound finished 1st. She is amazing; coming from dead last to win this. She has won before on this surface, so it no question weather she could run on it or not. I hope she continues to race in 2009.
Ladies Classic - Zenyatta is now 9 for 9 after wining this race. She has won before on this surface also.
Classic - My two horses Curlin and Colonel John came in 4th and 6th respectfully. It seems that both didn't like the new surface; neither have raced on it before. They would have done much better I think if the race was on dirt. The top two horses that finished are turf horses. The turf horses seemed to have an advantage. Raven's Pass wins.
